LEGAL ENGLISH
This course is intended to help you prepare for the ILEC exam and/or to improve your ability to read, write, and understand English legal communications. In addition, this class will strengthen your skills for meetings, discussions, presentations, interviews, contracts, and understanding other various legal texts.
In collaboration with the Cambridge TransLegal textbook and CDRoms, an American attorney will teach from legal experience in a private law firm and with valid legal documents used in the United States legal practice.
There are four areas of law, all of which are tested on the ILEC exam, that will be covered in this semester. Each class will begin with a broad overview of the general explanation of the practice of law. This broad overview will help you to understand how the legal system works and will give you a better understanding of how each area of the law comes together.
